NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils - Part 1

Hello Mariposas...are you still out there??  So sorry it's been FOREVER since I posted anything, it's been a challenging few months!!  Today I have a great product to talk with you about, NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils.  I'm sure many of you have heard about these, they are versatile and great as an eyeshadow base under pressed eyeshadows, pigments and glitters or worn alone.  They retail for about $4.49, they are super creamy and pigmented I use them over an eyeshadow primer but I always use a primer first (my go to primer is Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP)).  My suggestion when using these is to BLEND them out with your finger or a brush in order to avoid creasing.  My favorite is MILK it can be used to amp up lights, brights and pastels and make an average eyeshadow POP, Black Bean can be used to create an amazing smokey eye!!  You can purchase these here: Harmon Discount  Ulta  Cherry Culture

Below are some descriptions and swatches. Milk is a creamy opaque matte white. Cottage cheese is a shimmery white which would be a great highlight color and inner tear duct. Yogurt is a shimmery champagne, gorgeous!!  Pots and Pans is a bright shimmery silver Hot Pink is an opaque matte well, hot pink :).  Black bean is a super saturated glossy matte black.

Maybelline Color Tattoo's Review and Swatches

Hola Mariposas!!

Today I bring you a review of one of the hottest products in the blogsphere Maybelline Color Tattoo's!!  These are cream eyeshadows with long staying power, the claim is 24 hours...I do not need my eyeshadow to be able to last that long EVER!!  These retail for $7.99 depending on the retailer Mac paint pots retail for $17.50.  These can be used alone or as a base just like their Mac counterpart, they can definitely boost, brighten or darken your eyeshadow even acting like a colorful primer.  They come in an amazing shade range, there is a purple shade also that I didn't include which had less than stellar pigmentation.  I'd encourage you to check these out it's a nice way to try a high end product at a drugstore price.  My favorites are the metallics and Tough as Taupe :-).  Enjoy Mariposas and thanks for reading.

Urban Decay Contest Facebook look

I entered Urban Decay's Facebook contest using their 15th Anniversary Palette, which is my FAVE!! My look is a navy smokey eye and was done with the 15th Anniversary Palette...LOVES!!  Urban Decay has recently reformulated it's eyeshadow line and the shadows in this palette are all made with that new formula...it's like BUTTAHHHHH!!  This palette is limited edition and sold out quickly, right now it is only sold  (to my knowledge) on sephora.com.

I always start off with UDPP
Evidence 3/4 lid
Omen inner 1/4 lid
Tainted tear duct
Buck as a transition in the crease with Omen and Evidence
Vanilla on the brow bone
Blackout along the lower lash line

I started with a nude lip, but then added some color below
I love how the dark rim makes my eyes look lighter

NEW!! Milani Powder Eyeshadow - UGH!!!

Hey Mariposas!!  I know it's been forever, so sorry!!  I'm going to make sure to be more regular with my posts!!  Much love!!

})i({

I had an opportunity to try Milani's new Powder Eyeshadows in Shocking Pink and Olympia Blue.  I was excited to find a matte hot pink and matte bright blue at the drugstore!!  Unfortunately it was not to be, it was an ambitious undertaking for drugstore makeup.  The colors ended up being chalky and sheer, and although only being $5.79 they are not worth the price.  The Milani Baked Eyeshadow colors could be worn wet and at least that would be better.  See my swatches (heavy), below are stock pictures:

These were heavily swatched over bare skin...SHEER!!
Stock photos, the ones tested were the top left and bottom middle.
